4 Jesus told them “Don’t let anyone mislead you for many will come in my name , claiming I am the Messiah’ They will deceive many.”- Matthew 24:4-5. So the false claim one of the most deceiving claim probably in history. Jesus says many will come in his name saying I am the Messiah. Many will be deceived , now of course this may not be you but there is a chance it might be you as well. Now first off let us take into account what this verse is saying. So let’s first read this verse simply , Jesus is technically saying here do not let people fool you with their claims of being the Messiah for they will fool/deceive many. So at this point we are getting very close to Jesus’ coming, but there are of course a few seasons we have to go through (Page 31). Now I want you to read through Chapter 10 one more time, because if you have forgot something it may not make sense.
So this chapter is called The False Claim, and the reason for this chapter is to get a better understanding of when we know Jesus will come. So Jesus will come back with/on the clouds , this is stated in Revelation 1:7 , Zechariah 12:10 , and lastly Matthew 26:64. So with these verses many people try to find a meaning in clouds which does have a significance , but not really in these verses this is clear as day. You will see Jesus coming in the clouds. If you read over chapter ten you see the signs will show almost everything. Well this chapter we are going to talk about discerning false prophets/Jesus. So these are the 2 main ways we can discern false prophets/Jesus’.
#1 These false Jesus’ will say what most people want to hear.
“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” -2 Timothy 4:3
This is what always will draw people away it makes everything seem right and true but it
really isn’t. # 2 They do not bring out the topic of repentance. They again will try to do or say what the people want them to say , which will satisfy the audience even more and make them sin more.“The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity. The prophecies they gave you were false and misleading” -Lamentations 2:14 This again is also super dangerous. You have to feel the truth hit you. You have to feel like Oh my gosh ! I need to repent. Therefore I tell you if their teachings make you to keep sinning against God immediately turn away from it.
Jesus is same God , and God will never go against His own word. Like just imagine God going against what he taught and what had influenced millions of people ! Remember the Holy Spirit will guide you in the right path not the wrong.
